Information literacy in the digital age and the digital citizenship of medical students

In the digital age, the increasing volume of information poses new challenges for medical students in effectively acquiring, processing, and applying knowledge. Information literacy is not only an academic skill but also a foundation for developing responsibility and digital citizenship. This article analyzes the philosophical foundations of information literacy and clarifies its relationship with the ability to participate responsibly in a digital society. Furthermore, it proposes educational approaches to enhance medical students’ information literacy and digital citizenship, contributing to the formation of a generation of doctors who are both professionally competent and socially responsible in the context of digital transformation.
